Example. So yes, depending. Maybe things have changed but from what I understand if a 930 is worth $130K in Germany, a seller of a ROW sold new there can get that amount. If it's a US 930 all he can sell for is $101K as the German buyer now has to pay the 29% tax.
For a $29K profit you might get a flipper who will do that and want/need to offer more for your car to resell if they have the ability and connections. Also the stigma for ROW is not as bad as in decades past, but some were hacked up to pass US regulation that were in force in past decades.
When trying to establish a 930 value a 930 sold new in CA is worth more to a Ca buyer just like a 930 sold new in Germany is worth more to the German buyer. Every other 930 is on a different planet. Some use the CA value model for stock only for all 930s as most desirable ( valuable) as that is where the largest market ( CA ) is but maybe not all really want them that way other than it is necessary to please the powers that be. So to all that live elsewhere, go figure.
