E30 valve adjustment

Hi,
I have a question about the valve adjustment on E30, do you have to take off the fan shroud, fan or any other stuff from the front to be able to access the dampener to turn the engine to move the cam to get TDC for each cylinder? Looks like there isn't enough room to get a socket on the bolt.
Thanks.

It'll fit

As long as the socket isn't too deep it should fit without removing anything.

The fitting the feeler gauge and the eccentric feel are a much tougher part of the job.

Kennyd,
When I adjusted my valves, I turned the engine with the rear wheel via the transmission. I removed all spark plugs, raised one of the rear wheels, put the car in the 5th gear and bingo.
Off course if yours has an automatic tranny, then it's a different story.
