Rough idle fixed then returns on my 318i

I had a rough idle and stalling on my 1993 318i with occasional dark smoke coming from the tailpipe. I changed my mass air flow meter and the car ran perfect for 24 hours and 50 miles. Then the rough idle came back and the smoke is more constant but the car does not stall. Any ideas on my problem?

Did you replace the wire connector? My 325, the connector comes loose and if i push it on it will say on for a day or two then it acts up again.

Have you checked your crankvase vent valve(PCV)?

How strong is the suction at the oil cap? The engine stumble and recover when you remove the oil cap. If it does not stumble and there is strong suction then your PCV is bad.

Thanks for the input. I'll check the plug, pcv, and oil cap in the morning.
