need a good BMW mechanic in hartford, CT area

Anyone know a good BMW specialist in the Hartford, CT area? I am in Avon, 20 min. northwest of hartford. I do most work myself, but i still need someone to do the stuff i can't do (alignment, etc...) or don't want to do.

Thanks,

Mike

BMW Roundel

I can suggest 2 places that I remember in your area. Even though I'm in Maine, I am orig. from Barkhamsted, CT. In Winsted there is a place called Silver Star Interprises. Don't know if he's still there now but if so, he's good. The other place that came to mind is in Avon over across from the chocolate place on 44. He restores German cars mostly but does do mechanical work too. I don't remember the name of the place, sorry!
Hope this helps! G'Luck

Thanks for the quick reply. I think i know the place you are talking about in Avon. Is the place "Automobile Associates of Canton"? It's right on the town line with Avon. The other place it could be is "Cardello's" (not sure if i spelled it right) It's in the same industrial complex.

I actually take my Porsche 944 to Automobile Associates of Canton. They do really great work, at reasonable prices. They told me they do work on BMW's, but it's not their specialty. From talking to the guy there, it didn't seem like they worked on anything but Porsches very much, so i was a little hesitant to take it there. The other place, Cardello's, i heard they work on BMW's, but I drove in there once, and the place looked like a ratty old junkyard. Not a place i wanted to leave my car. Maybe they do good work, but i was reluctant to find out.

I'll probably give Automobile Associates a try next time.

Anyone else know of any places?

Mike

The other place I mentioned was in Winsted. The far end of Main Street (Rt44 heading towards Lime Rock). Kinda across from the NAPA. The guy that runs the place name is John. He mostly works on Mercedes but I know he will work on Bimmers too.
Good Luck!
