'95 325ic central locking problem

The central locking system doesn't work from the drivers door but works from the pass. door. The lock works but will not lock/unlock the other door or enable/disable the ignition cut-out.

Any ideas where to start looking.

Sometimes the rod that connects to the back of the lock cylnder then to the actuator pops out, this could be the cause, the cheap one, although could also have faulty actuater, remove door panel and inspect. I used to have this problem with my E28 it was the rod.

Mine comes and goes every 3-4 weeks, it is definately electrical.

What happens when you depress the lock manually? Does it electronically assist you by "snapping" into place like the other sides do ... or does it just not work at all?
