Did you get the Speedo problem fixed? Mine had the same problem and it was a corroded wire on the sending unit on the rear differential. The pick-up unit is electrical and not a speedometer cable. Hope this helps

My green service lights illuminate when I have the keys in the 2nd position, but when the engine is actually running, the lights remain off. I dont know if this is due to the fact that my odometer is broken or some other issue. Not anything serious..the car runs great. Just curious. Thanks.

PS - the odometer is not working due to a broken gear in the odometer assembly.

By my understanding of your question it seems your indicators are working correctly. They should only come on once they get into the yellow (or red). Call it an irritation factor to encourage you to get it serviced. Otherwise you'd have an irritating green (4) light(s) in your face the whole time.

After replacing the batteries the SI unit must be reset.

Batteries are no longer necessary if the SI board is
modified. The batteries will die if the car battery is
disconnected for a long time.

Good luck

the car will run without the instrument cluster!! just press "range" on the on board computer to see if you need fuel,..otherwise just rebuild and replace odometer gears and batteries for your service idicators.,...ususallly around 120000 miles
