Well, in an effort to save a few bucks I bought a sc kit on ebay
I'm now trying to figure out what is missing and learning as much as I can about the install, since no instructions were included. Has anyone out there put together their own kit? I have a rebuilt V-1 S trim charger, bracket, set of 24# and 36# injectors, elbows, a few hoses (but need new ones), oil tap for filter, charger pulleys 3.12" and 3.33", an electric fan with a broken blade , and some misc unidentified parts (I need a crank pulley and programming and probably more) I ultimately want a mild not wild set up. No intercooler, euro hfm (if I don't need it) 6psi-8psi from what I have learned is ok with me. car is a 95 M3 build date 7/95 thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

Would this be a picture of your Supercharger?

Your best bet at this time may be to contact Vortech, I'd hate to make an assumption not knowing exactly what you missing or what you think you are missing. Here is their website listed below.

I suggest the same, they may be able to tell you what originally came with the kits.

I'm sure that it may only cost a few hundred dollars to complete the set-up, I'm not sure how much you paid but the initial bargain may start adding up now. I'd request a copy of the installation instructions these usually include a parts list and numbers just incase you need to reorder anything.

thanks guys, but Vortech doen't offer a complete kit for BMW's.
these set up's are offered by tuners like Dinan, AA, ESS, RMS etc. and they want to sell a whole kit so they can be very tight lipped about helping us put one together (mostly because it can be cheaper to compile the parts than to buy their kits. no warranty of course) I have heard there are a few companies out there that manufacture pulleys for companies like Dinan etc, (BMW crank pulley for this kit) and that I can buy one from them. But all I can come up with are companies that charge a fortune to do a one off just for me. If anyone knows of a pulley co that has made BMW pulleys let me know. THANKS!

Once I find out the size of the crank pulley and get one, I will have all the parts needed to just order the software from one of the tuners. I'm hoping they will go easy on me

Sounds like an adventure I’d personally wouldn’t want to be on. But go forth and hunt down those parts and share your kill with the rest of the Pelican Parts tribe………
Good Luck, I’ll keep my ears to the ground and let you know if I come across anything helpful! |
