Did you check the brake pedal switch? It may have died. I haven't looked for mine on my car, but it should be right behind the brake pedal (High up on the pedal arm). It may be out of adjustment or internally failing. Always check the easy stuff first.

Thank you "blkongry" and "Wayne at Pelican",you guys were right on,it was the brake switch....i changed it and everything is back to normal now,boy do i love my BMW when everything is 100%.I was surprised to see that the switch was actually very inexpensive,at only $ 23 canadian it was a big surprise.
I apreciate the picture and my appologies for taking so long to repost,if i can help anyone with anything i would love to repay the favor,i apreciate your guys help very much. Thank you again. Dan

One other thing,on my car the switch actually there was 4 prongs rather than two, ironiclly enough the 4 prong brake switch is acually $ 3 cheaper !,go figure....and to remove the thing you have to pull back the RED part fit in the switch and then push back the red plastic,i learned this the hard way.
Thank you all. Dan
