Out of curiousity, I was wondering if anyone knows what my '88 325is is worth. It's very strong and mechanically very good - A/C doesn't blow cold, and just about everything that can be replaced I had done. No rust that I can see, couple of minor dents and dings. About 137K mi. Black with red leather interior. Paint OK. Driver's seat is worn.
Just doing that thinking about upgrading, you know? Kelly's says it's worth about $3200, but that seems very low to me! Any thoughts? |

Not really. $3200 isn't such a bad price. I would keep it, but I am saying that because I just bought the same car! I would spend the money on upgrades to your current car, instead of buying a new one. Maybe start with some new seats!

Thanks for the insight. I was just kicking around some ideas about making a change. But I think you've talked me out of it. Heck, I've put in $3200 in maintenance this year (when I say I've replaced everything, I mean it), so no point in getting rid of it now.
Take care. |

Automatic, or manual? And is there anything you particularly don't like about the car? I understand that even one little piece of frustration can really make a difference. Also, it can make a difference if you do the work, or if somebody else does. It becomes really hard to get rid of a car that you have personally spent a lot of time on.

I dunno. I see em for $3000 round here most of the time....But, if you have put $3200 in repairs, why not finish it off and enjoy all of your work?

It looks like that's what I'm going to do. It's a 5-speed, which is fun.
I guess I should just have some more fun with it and fix all other small things that need it. Thanks guys. |
