bilstein bts kit

Does anyone have any experience with the Bilstein bts suspension kit? I recently purchased a 94 325is, and it will need new suspension soon. I like the idea of buying a kit with matched springs and shocks like the bilstein or hr cup kit, but I haven't been able to find out much about them.
Who makes the springs for bilstein? and what are the spring rates. How much of a drop will there be from the stock 325is suspension? This is going to be a daily driver car, with a few driving schools a year. I want a firm ride, not harsh, and I don't think I am a good enough driver to justify the cost of coilovers. It is either one of these kits, or eibach springs with bilstein sport shocks.
Thanks!

I have not really read of anyone putting on the bilstein kit. However, I have heard that bilsteins plus eibach pro kit provides a very good compromise between handling and ride quality. This kit will lower around 1 inch around I've heard. However, people have complained the putting in bilsteins caused their cars to "rise" Just a thought to consider. Koni SA is a very very popular choice amongst the M3 owners. I think you need to use your strut housing however.

I heard that HR makes the springs for the Bilstein cup kit, just as Bilstein makes the shocks for the HR cup kit, dont quote me on that though but Ive heard it from a few differant people.

I am not so sure....the reason being is that HR makes their own matched springs and struts/shocks combination. The cup kit offered by HR matches their HR race springs with their own brand shocks. They advertise a 2" drop and 1" in the rear, or something along those lines. HOwever, many people have had many good experiences with Bilstein sports mated with the HR sports. Those and eibachs are the best combos to be used with the Bilstein sports.

Thanks for your help. I just won an auction on ebay for some used eibach springs. Now, does anyone know who has the best prices on bilstein sport shocks?

Pelican carries them, the prices are pretty good.

no slam toward our moderator but,
i'm in the process of changing out shocks struts and deciding on what to put in. Bilsteins or Konis. in regards Bilsteins i've found them to be the cheapest at BavAuto. if youre a BMW CCA member, i can get the set with shipping for ~$460. Konis are about 100 more but have adjustable dampeners. both have lifetime warranties. Konis seem to be bigger with M3 owners where Bilsteins are more popular with the standard 3ers.
