ABS pump?

My ABS light is on and my local dealer told me the problem is the ABS pump. They want $2,000.00 it fix it! Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?
Thanks.

Well, with the dealers you will have the pump replaced and then still your ABS might be malfunctioning, unless you know that your dealer is honest and mechanics are knowledgable.
I have the ABS light on too, but I think I am going to trash ABS and purchase new non-ABS break cylinder from E30 318, and I still will have money to change everything including brake calipers! ABS is nice while you don't have to replace its parts! Otherwise just keep the distance with the car ahead of you in order to avoid panic breaking! I just imagine the pain in repairs if Traction Control gives up in newer cars!
