shocks/struts - e46 mounts better?
I need to replace my rear shocks on my '95 325i. I may replace the fronts as well. I heard that the e46 mounts are better and are compatible with e36s.
1) Recommendations on brands of shocks/struts? 2) Anyone know the part number to order online for the e46 mounts? 3) Any tech articles avail. for replacing front struts? Thanks, |

Heya-
Pelican carries mounts and a variety of shocks/struts. I went with tokico illuminas for my setup - it offers externally adjustable rebound/compression. It is very nice - very noticable difference between full soft and full stiff. Most owners would prefer Bilstein Sports to match lowering springs, or Bilstein Touring/HD for OEM springs. For e46 mounts - you can order them from pelican also or try your local stealer if you want to get ripped off. As for replacing front struts - the process is not that bad. It helps if you have power tools. http://www.logun.org/suspension.htm hope this helps.
