Intake Parts
Anyone know where to find a few replacement parts for something like this?
![]() I'm looking for the heavy gauge perf straps that are intended to mount under the hose clamps, and the poly collar (yellow shown in pic) that attaches the pipe. Also what’s a good way to clean a serviceable filter like shown?

As for cleaning a K&N style filter like this one, this site has some good tips: <http://www.dccarcare.com/tipowk/tipowk20.html> ...essentially, you wash it gently, let it dry, then oil it.
In regards to the parts and tubing, McMaster-Carr is a good place to get this stuff. They are an industrial supply company and you can get the stuff these auto manufacturers buy, relabel, mark-up and sell to you, but you get it cheaper. The tubing for the after market intakes are usually silicone, but any type of Nitrile or Buna will work. McMaster has the 3 1/8" ID (which I think is the size to go over the 3" down tube) for $30 for a 3' section. the bracing material is simple heavy gauge perforated metal. McMaster has it in stainless, which would look pretty tough, but you can probably get that at any industrial supply store. You may be able to get these items from a performance auto store, but I highly doubt they will piece them out... they usually want to sell the whole thing as a kit. Although.... hell, for the price, you might as well pick up another kit like this one for $20. < Good Luck!! |
