Fuel line question.

I know I should just go buy a manual. But its almost christmas and I must save my $$. So maybe you guys can help.

Under the car are a series of metal lines that run from the fuel tank to the engine. (fuel lines of course!) There is a bunch of 3 that run along the side, and next to that group is one larger metal fuel line by itself. Well, this larger on is all bent up.

First question. Is this the main fuel line? Possibly explaining why I get a sputter when I press on the gas pedal?

Second question. Is it possible to bypass buying a whole new line by cutting out the bent parts and replacing them with rubber hosing and o-rings?

And finally....If this is the main fule line, could the lack of a proper fuel mixture contribute to overheating?

Yep you can replace a fuel line

you can use flexable hose to replace any rigid line.
Be sure to get high pressure hose.

Be careful around the catalyst.

Yes the mixture allows enough fuel to cool the combustion.

Very hard to tell if the line is restricted enough to cause a misfire.

Yes. Main line. possibly the sputter under accel. volume and such. I fyou choos eto bypass TEMPORARILY, use a flange tool and flange both ends before installing High Pressure rubber line, low pressure will burst in a short time....so I need to discuss the effects??.....and No, overheating is not the result of under fueling. It needs to be determined if the overheating is caused by the cooling system or the exhaust system. excessive backpressure ie converter, or resonator full of converter garbage if converter has disintegrated or blocked muffler, Pull rear pipe, 3 bolts and run engine. itll be loud, but will give you a hint. also check cooling sys, release bleed valve on thermostat housing to make sure you dont have a vapor lock.

Well, it cools fine under normal driving speed 25 mph. 40 mph its almost cools too much, and at idle the temp climbs. Probobly needs a new thermostat.

Ugh, last time I paid $500 for a jewel of a 528e ('85) this time I got what I paid for it seems 325 ('85).

Thanks again for the help.
