318I with M42 engine
Can anyone tell me about how many miles I can hope to get out of this engine ? It's in a 92 318IC E30. I just replaced the profile gasket and hope this is all the suprizes it has for me. I did have a 325 with the 2.7 and it had almost 300 thousand on it when I traded it off for this one and still had never had the valve cover off. Great car! Should have kept it. TIA Vernon

i know a guy that has 400+ on his 318, the car will last long time with good car and even longer if you keep throwing money at it

Agreed. Other than the profile gasket issue,these engines are problem free and basically bulletproof. The bodies are also structurally sound unless it was in an accident/collision.
