rims and springs
hey whatsup guys..got another question...i hav a '95 318is and im gonna slap sum new rims on it and lower it sometime soon. i'm probably gonna go with 17" rims since i dont want them to look too big and i dont want them to scrape when i lower my car. so here's my question: how far should i lower my car if i get 17" rims? i want my car to get as low as possible but i still dont know how far to go. there are two sets of eibach springs i'm deciding on. one set will lower the front 1.8" and the back 1.4". the other will lower the front 1.4" and the back 1.2". i want to go with the 1.8/1.4 but would that be to low for 17" rims? would it scrape on hard turns? and what am i gonna see as a result from lowering it? thanx for all ur help i appreciate it!

Depends on the width and offset of the wheel you want. I have 8" wide wheels with 40mm offset on a 97 328i, lowered with the Eibach pro kit. No rubbing problems at all. Maybe you could find a tire shop that will allow you to try the wheels on the car after you have lowered it? Or try Tire Rack. They have plenty of experience with these situations plus they are an authorized retailer for Eibach.

Yeah i have 8.5" rears also with eibach pro kit (1.3" drop advertised...its tucked in the rears now) and no rubbing. 235/45/17. Not much space though - I can fit a 245/40 back there probably but thats about it.
