Emarats, imported from japan to United Emarats. My main problem is : -- my bmw 320i is very slow and heavy driving, what i mean when I try to accelerate to 100km it take 13 sec., it is too much!!?. it supposed to take it in 10.6 second. 10 seconds is much, what do you think in 13 seconds??? another thing , sometime it decrease the moment when sudden going, ( is it normal situation??) is there some damages or confusing in controller (computer) of my car??. there is no fast response in my car. -- second prblem is : there is a big shake in transmission shift ( dont sift somth), but it appear when shift 1st speed to 2nd speed only. this situation disappear after 1 hour driving. at frist I thoght that becouse my car need to heat more before driving, but I try to leave it heat for more than 15 minute, and nothing new. for more info this shake not appear when I adjust transmission in winter driving program. *Is this shake has a relation with decreasing of the car speed. -- I have strange problem with the ire condition. it on and off without tourn it on or of. .--last thing i want to increase its speed and accelration . could U recmand me about main parts, i have no experience in that. thanks for helping me

hey, in terms of the shake, where does this shake come from? I had a HORRIBLE shake right down the center to the rear of the car whenever I shifted from 1-2. Then it started appearing everytime i accelerated. Most commmon cause of this is the guibo/flex disc. its the piece of rubber between the tranny and the driveshaft. Just jack up your car and take a look underneath at it - if the rubber is cracked or shredded you should replace it. Its not hard to find, just look at the end of the tranny and you'll see it.

i suppose that 92 320 is e36 car! in that case it has 2.0 l M50 nonVanos engine! in Europe e36 320 is rated at 150 hp and your acceleration definately is slow for this car! it should be around 9 sec.
it would be stupid in your case to waste money on mods! first of all they give you almost nothing unless you spend 3X the value of your car on those mods alone. but then still you need to repair your car anyway! i think that you just need to repair it! the best and safest value for your car is OEM parts! although BMWs are good cars but still nothing is for ever like rubber gets old, timing chain streches, chain guides wear out, bearing start to make noises etc. |

shake and vibrations from drivetrain usually go with old rubber engine/tranny mounts and as stupenal mentioned bad guibo/flex disc!
i can say nothing of switching of auto trannies, i never owned automatic car and never will! those things are quite an agregate in itself with its own computer and hydraulics! there are a ton of possibilities why it does not work properly! i bet to properly rebuild an auto tranny is twice as expensive as an engine rebuild with brand new piston set! well, since its auto, then it is slower than manual car and i am speculating that may be 11 sec would take it to 100 km/h! as i understood from your first post your car also hesitates when accelerating, which means that you need to change a whole buch of parts on your engine! |
