Dashboard removal
I am currently in the process of tearing apart my e-30 and need to know how I remove the dashboard unit. I cannot find any mounting points or bolts that anchor it down. Can anybody out there give me some insight? I only removed the bottom panel directly below the steering wheel and the radio.

Ooh....there are LOTS of screws to take out. You will need to pull the instrument cluster, steering wheel, radio/ac/switch section, the glove box, the center console, and the kitchen sink.
Are you putting in a new dash? If so, just wait till you get your new one and you will be able to see all of the points.

Thanks for the info. I am keeping the dashboard. I am completely gutting the interior to assess the rust damage at this point. And you are right. I found the additional fastners after reading your reply and there are many not to mention a plethora of wires to go along with them.
