92 325i isrunning bad

I have a 92 325i BWM that started to miss a couple of days ago. Not really out of the blue it had stalled a couple of times earlier in the week, but it did seem to come on very fast. This is my wife's car so I can't be specific about the lead-up, but the car is ill at this point. I changed the plugs, but the car olny runs good until it begins to warm up. Besides routnig service, I have done nothing to this car in the past 40,000 miles, 150K total miles.

I am thinking oxygen sensor or exhaust system, as the mufler shows sings of wear and has been much louder the past few weeks.

Any help before I buy the parts and get started would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Check eng light on??? Oxygen sensor would set a fault. These cars are bad about the DME and the coils going bad>>If thats the case you will have to get all 6 coils replaced along with the DME.

No the eng light is not on. It has gone on and off for the past couple of weeks, but currently off. I can't find a diagnostic tool in the little town where I live and don't want to drive 75 miles to my bro's.

Thanks for the help I appreciate it.
