replacing front pads and rotors
 
hey guys, tommorow I plan on doing this job to my e30. sick of the poor stoppiong distance and the shake when I hit the brakes. Can someone give me a list of what tools I need and any tips and tricks? I have my bentley and It does look pretty easy. But id like to get a word from somoene who has done it before. this will be my first brake job ever.feel free to email me at: E304life@cs.com

i too did my first brake job on an e30, its so simple, i dont even think i opend the manual, very straight forward, only thing you need to be reall carefull of is dont let the caliber hang from the brake line, some say you can "hang" it but i think i got a bucket or something and rested it on that. the bentley will get you thru.good luck

Yeah...its easy. I love it. Some big crescent pliers are good for pusing the brake piston back in.

Also, the shuddering could very well be caused by other parts of your suspension being worn out. Check em w/ the big pliers while down there.

ill be rebuilding the front suspension pretty soon anyway with new tierods, shocks, springs, control arms and bushings, strut mounts. I think that will make the car feel like new :-)
