I'm gonna be helping someone out with a starter replacement on a friend's 1996 328i. We are not BMW experts, but have plenty of other experience. What can we expect to expend on this project--time, money, etc. Any tips?
TIA! |

I found it quite difficult to get at the starter on my car (also a six cylinder). Be prepared for skinned knuckles, and for twisting into strange shapes in order to get to the bolts!
If I remember correctly, the bolts are 19mm, and I think that I removed some brackets/wire/hoses to get easier access. Sorry to be so vague, but it was over a year ago. If you have plenty of other experience, I don't think that you'll have a problem. Stephen
