Anyone tried RED LINE OIL Synthetic Gear Oil?

Anyone tried RED LINE OIL Synthetic Gear Oil?

Does it reduce rear axle/final drive/differential backlash/clunk?

i did on my 1979 320i in the gearbox. It did work really well. I'm not using it on the 325e 'cos it has the green sticker on it and the manual says it uses some special oil, but I'm using it on the diff with very good results, no boiling and no burning. As for the clunk, make sure you check the diff when you do the fluid change, making sure nothing is flying around where it's not supposed to....

I am thinking as an alternative to 75w90 gear oil for the differential 80W140 ?

Redlines website says:-

80W140

Generally used in commercial trucks which will climb long, steep grades and some racing applications where power is not critical. Generally 0.5% less efficient than 75W90. Can also be used in differentials and transmissions where excessive noise is a problem and limited-slip differentials which vibrate excessively when turning a corner. Exceeds API GL-5.

I was wondering whether it would quieten my diff backlash?
