Stainless Steel brake line question
Alright I ordered a set of the stainless stell braided lines when I replaced my brakes. The problem I have is this. The fronts went on fine, but the 4 remaining for the back don't seem right. I have 2 lines that have a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other end. The other two lines have female connectors on both ends. Am I missing something? I need a male connector at the caliper and a female connector at the flared end coming from the master cylinder. That leaves me with 2 female ends in the middle. I can head to NAPA in the morning and try to get a coupler for the middle, but I keep thinking I might be missing something. Anyone else run into this?

If they are the correct lines, they should match up directly to the old ones. How do they look in comparison to the older ones?

From everything I can tell, they are correct. The fronts went on fine. Like I said the problem was the 4 lines they give you for the back. My car has a single rubber line on each side. The two piece line they gave me for each side won't work. I went to NAPA and the couplers they had weren't flared the way I needed. We have a friend who races late models and had a nachine shop. He might be able to fabricate what I need. The lines are supposed to be like this. According to the picture from every site I visited. Two long lines for the front and 4 for the back. I guess I'll get around to it next weekend.

Sounds like you got the wrong lines. What is the year/model of your car?

98 323is. It looks that way. The brake line that comes off of the back is a single line and the one that comes with the kit is a two piece for each side. I will get what I need this week.
