Options and issues with 97 M3

Hi,

I am looking to sell my 99 528 and pickup a 97-98 M3, I wanted to know what options there were on these cars as well as what issues I should watch for.

Thanks in advance,

I tried to post a (lengthy) response last night, but it looks like it got lost. I don't want to retype the whole thing, so I apologize for my brevity.

I don't have an exhaustive list of options, but some that come to mind are:

- power seats
- cruise control
- on-board computer
- spoiler
- wheel style
- Harmon-Kardon stereo

As far as things to look for other than the standard used car stuff, here are a few points of concern:

- have a cylinder compression check done
- have the codes pulled
- check the rear shock mounts
- check the rear trailing arm bushings
- check the radiator neck for cracks
- make sure it's up to date on its inspections

I'm sure I'm forgetting some things on both points, but hopefully that will get you started.

Thanks alot, all pretty standard stuff. What did they mean by on-board computer?

Thanks again

My '99 has only the basic OBC, which is pictured below (it's a little crooked and you can't read the display, but you get the idea). The full OBC has more buttons on the bottom row, and more functionality. Since I'm not familiar with it, I'll let someone else explain.
