How much fluid does a 4HP 22 Transmission take?
Ok,i just changed the transmission filter and gasket on my 325e this past weekend. The Haynes repair manual called for 2.1 qts to refill so i put that amount in and nothing registered on the dipstick so i added 1 qt.,drove the car for about 80 miles and then checked it with the transmission both in park and in neutral and it is barely registering on the stick. The car shifts gears fine and there isn't the slightest hint of a leak anywhere...i was wondering if maybe there is a misprint in the manual and it should be 3.1 qts. instead of 2.1 qts.? That doesn't sound right for an automatic transmission to me.
