hi all,
i have a 96 328is and i was changing my intake manifold gasket tonight and i don't think my fuel injectors went on correctly. i pulled all the injectors and attached them to the fuel rail first and clipped them in. then i fed them into their home on the intake manifold. after connecting everything the car really runs like cr@p . it will start then die just as quickly. sometimes it will idle, but really rough and i believe at too low an rpm. when i try and drive it it won't even idle. it dies as soon as i let up on the gas. the injectors don't look like they're sitting down inside the intake far enough. i popped a few down further inside (pushing on the injector itself, as the fuel rail was bolted down and snug) and they popped into the intake manifold nicely, but then they pulled out of the fuel rail too much. it seemed like the idle was back to normal but gas was spewing everywhere!!! can anyone PLEASE help me with this????? it would be greatly appreciated. |

it looks ok. i don't see how it can be bent. it anything, it needs to be bent down so the injectors sit further down in the i.m.
i don't see how i bent it down, and how to bend it down myself, because the two braces where the rail is bolted to the car are there. those two braces are really strong, and there's no way i can bolt the rail down and then bend it down toward the i.m........does this make sense???? |
