I have a 92 E36 that has two problem passenger door panels. it is an anoyance mostly, but I would like to replace or repair them. It seems that the plastic fasteners that hold that panels have just ripped right off. It seems that the only option I have been getting is to replace them.
Has anyone else had this problem? How much of a pain is it to do this myself? I don't want to drop a lot of money on this car since it is getting a bit long in the tooth... Thanks

On my 92 the same thing happened and for a few dollars you can replace the plastic fasteners. I got them from the dealer for way too much, like a dollar each, but you can find a bag of 15-20 on ebay sometimes for a bunch cheaper. You should have no problem replacing them yourself, and you might want to think of replacing more than just the broken ones, especially along the top. Anyway $20 tops!!!!

I had a few get loose on my panel and I used some 'threshold adhesive' to glue them back on. It's an acrylic adhesive used for bonding thresholds and entry carpet, so it bonds to fiberous stuff like the flake board the panels are made of as well as the clips, and it cures into a tough bond. Seems to be working for me... for now...
