Smile e36 325i coolant sensor

Hello to all,
I have a 1994 325i with close to 100k miles. I have changed most of the cooling system already. This am and a few days ago it was about 5 fahrenheit and the coolant level is low message came on. Of course the coolant level is fine so I believe the sensor is faulty. I ordered a new one from pelican and would like to know how hard is it to install? I see that the coolant sensor is on the expansion tank and i can drain it with a siphon. I changed the radiator awhile ago and so my memory is alittle fuzzy on how to take out the expansion tank with causing a major spill.

ANy hints or suggestions ??

Thanks
Nik
