Extrude Honing M20B25 IM
Has anyone here used extrude honing [do a google] on an m20b25 intake manifold? It isn't cheap but ... some who have built 2.7-3.0 M20 based motors have included the process.
I was curious what peoples firthand experience was in this E30 community on this mod [really only worthwhile with several other mods to open breathing, exhaust, inclease fuel, larger bumpsticks, etc...]. TIA Jason |

Jase, I imagine that if you're doing a lot of other mods on the engine, and want max performance, than it would be a worthwhile process. That being said, if you were just going to Extrudhone the intake, and nothing else, I would save the money for track days.
When I was racing Jet-Skis years ago, we would extrude hone our intake and exhaust systems and it would make a significant power improvement ( almost 10 % increase on a 35 horse motor ). But it would only gain us about 1 mph on top end. |

You should look in the 911 engine building or tech because most people are upset with the extrude hone companies for various bad practices
