Leaking HEad Gasket?
I've got a '92 325i that is giving me some problems. It is rather noisy, -especially at higher rpm's, and low on power. it had the water pump malady in its past, with it overheating.
No oil in coolant, or coolant in oil. Compression check pretty uniform: 125-130 on all cylinders except #5 which was 115. I had three new mufflers put on with no improvement, which is when I started to suspect the head gasket. The catylitic converter is new. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris |

I would say that the headgasket is not the culprit from the info you give. Noisy, do You mean, rattling, knocking or what. Have You checked the error codes if any?

re:
I am now looking at the Auto trans. I am thinking the lack of power is because it might be slipping, and the noise does seem to be louder in the car , and above the trans. The noise is a rumble/groan.
Thanks, Chris |
