Hi all this is my first post so forgive my ignorance.
my 1998 318is climate control panel is playing up will work wont work sort of thing. i have read all the posts including the excellent fix guide post on this forum. my problem is before i pull the unit apart to change the capacitor is if i put my hand up back of unit while it is in situe in car and push the blue multi-plug it comes on and stays on at times. could this still be the capacitor fault or is this another fault all together. Yor assistance would be most appreciated Regards in advance.. |

Welcome!!!
Sounds like you might have a broken solder joint on the connector, or is the connector fully plugged into the back? Is this repeatable, or just sometimes... -Wayne

It is repeatable usually have to fiddle about with blue connector first thing in morning and after car has been stopped for a period of time. also at times have noticed the green led on panel on last program used is illuminated but temp didgital display is very dim. Again a push on connector remedies this..
Connector is fully pushed home with white retaining clip in place. regards Brian. |

Sounds like a broken solder joint inside the unit to me, where the connector receptacle is mounted inside...
