Quick key blank question

So... Can I buy a New lighted head key blank on ebay and bring it to the dealer to have them cut it? Or do they need to order the key, I think it is a lazer cut? For a 1994 325IS. I think I have the key blank serial number (a little metal tag)

Thanks.

they are very expensive cuts around here. I got banged $35 per key to cut at the local locksmith. I can only imagine what the dealer will charge.

Bummer. It seems that the P.O. did not give me the lighted key head. Can I just bring in the key I have, Plus a uncut blank and have them do it? Or do I need to have the key Serial Number and order????

Sure, I took the only key the PO gave me and the locksmith copied off that. No Serial # or reg. Just make sure the new keys all work on the car before you leave the dealer or locksmith. At $35 a pop i was gonna make sure they worked in every keyhole properly.
