318i Camshaft replacment

There are alot of horror stories on here about working with BMW camshafts because they are hollow or very fragile?

Is this the case with the 4cyl shafts as well?

I have 91 E36 with the earlier timing belt motor.
Luke.

Hi there. The camshaft removal stories deal primarily with the cars with hydraulic lifters. Your four-cylinder E30 single cam is different, and is relatively easy to remove, although I don't have a tech article on it at this time...
