Single piece bumper strip?

My 87 cabrio (metal bumper) has bumper strips that have gone gray instead of black. I've tried buffing/polishing but without great success. However, they're not that expensive to replace from Pelican, but it would be a great opportunity to get rid of the licence plate (move down to valance/spoiler) and get a single strip like the Euro cars. Does anyone know where to get single piece bumper strips? I have a pic of the car from the original (US) brochure and the bumper looks identical with signal light cutouts, but no licence plate holder.
