Hi Guys,
I have a stock E30 325i 1989 (from South Africa) with a ZF 4 H 22 EH automatic transmission. Yes, yes I know - put in a manual - one day. In the interim I'm interested in whether anyone has swapped out the chips in their automatic transmission program control units for programmable ones. I presume the program control unit (not the tranny computer) I have (in the boot next to the antenna) is not a dual program (economy vs sport) but has the code "Bosch" "1 216 512..." "Kick down.." (sorry can't make out the rest) written on it. My wiring diagrams are only for the later models which include the program switch so I can't judge whether the control module could be swapped out and a program switch added. It would be great to be able to program different shift maps. Does anyone know of an aftermarket chip? Switchlogic from Racelogic is an alternate solution which allows manual control of the gear changes but no automatic programs. Any experience with this unit? I'd appreciate your advice on this. Thanks in advance, Jason |
