some electrical problems

i have an 87 325is and it has some electrical problems. the last owner had clipped some wires under the steering wheel in that big cluster and im afraid to hook anything up. anyways, recently i got under there and hooked up the door ajar bell and then hooked up my active check control, those work fine, but then i tried to hook up my cd player and i had all the wires right on it but i was blowing fuse 23 for some reason, so i unhooked it and its just setting there, kinda wonderin if anyone has any info on the radios in e30s not to mention i would really like to have all the wiring hooked back up like stock, i still have the original radio but it doesnt make **** of sense, anyone help???? thanks.
