Question E36 sunroof problems

We are working on a 1994 325i. The sunroof will not close completely for two reasons:
First, the wind flap will not lower. Not a major issue as all moving parts are visible and the flap can be closed manually.
Second, the rear of the sunroof raises up on one side when closing resulting in interference with the solid roof. When opening the sunroof, the sunroof lowers into its normal (and I assume, correct) position.
Does anyone have any experience or can point me in a direction to diagrams?
Danke schön--Jake

you need to replace the entire cassett. Basicly remove the headliner remove the sunroof assy. Remove your motor and panel and chuck everything else away. Sorry but these kids are not servicable like the E30.
I removed mine had the hole welded shut and had a non sunroof headliner made. It was much easier to do this than fix the other one. I am 6-4 so I like the extra headroom.
Good luck

well it seems I have been mistaken (again)
When I worked at the dealership BMW listed these as non servicable and we just replaced the cassetts.

After much consternation, the sunroof is closed. However, due to some interference with the internal sliding panel, the roof will not raise. OK for now and it's not as cool as the e30s where you can see daylight with the roof up. I think e36s are the reason 'Bring More Wrenches' gained in popularity. Thanks to all my internet techies far and wide for your help. Rick, I should have just welded the &@*# thing shut!
