oxygen sensor fuse blows

On my 325e 1986, the oxygen sensor fuse (F9- 15amp) keeps blowing causing the engine to rev very high. The circuit diagram I have does not tell me which relay controls the sensor. Does anybody know the relay number ? I have tried randomly changing relays in the fuse box to no avail.

Also, where is the oxygen sensor located ? I recently had some work done with my exhaust at the manifold. Could there be a connection to the fuse blowing ?

Thanks in advance

Brendan

oxygen sensor relay is located under the little black box on the dirvers side under the hood mounted on the fender. the O2 sensor its mounted on the exhaust downpipe. i duno where it is exactly on an eta but it shouldnt be too different than an i car. good luck. sounds like its shorting somewhere. check wires for chaffing.

I found the relay. Thanks. When I remove the relay the fuse does not blow and the engine revs at normal RPM. The relay is good so I will follow the wiring down to the exhaust and hopefully find the short. If the sensor was bad does it typically exhibit a "short"
Thanks
