Power Locks
I have been working this issue and am at a impasse. 1990 325ic and I cannot unlock the passenger door in any manner, I can unlock trunk and I can loc kthe drivers door with key but only lock it with interior push rod (all fuses good). I have had the CLCU out and she looks good and the drivers door lock solenoid as well. The key lock looks good and has good rotation and spring pressure. I suspect one of the electrical components is dead but I do not know how to test them. If I disconnect the battery, unhook the solenoid, and remove lock cylinder should I not be able to lock and unlock the drivers door manually by rotating the fork on the door lock assembly. Any and all answers greatly appreciated, i would like to fix this as opposed to taking to my indy tech.

we have an e30 where the lock does not rotate around far enough to actuate the switch and I've also replaced those switches with good results. The switch is easy to chech when disassembled: depress the button and if the locks work, the switch is good. Do a little research on the 'double lock' function on the internet. here's a link:

Central Locking
I have had the key lock cylinder out and it appears to be good (good spring tension and good rotation). I can lock the drivers door with the lock button (but not the key) and I can unlock the drivers door with the lock button or key (I cannot lock the drivers door with the key), and I cannot unlock the pasenger door in any manner. I suspect that the central lock control is bad and I am in a electrcial lock down on the passenger side. I am going to pull the lock cylinder again (it has stopped raining) and see, with the lock solenoid disconnected if I can lock the door by taking my finger and depressing the fork like device on the door lock. If I can lock her this way that should tell me the key lock cylinder is not moving the fork far enough to lock the door and that, as a start, I need to replace the key lock. However I still am locked out of the passenger side.

Door Lock
OK, I put the key in the lock and got my nose as close as possbile to the interior door lock parts and here is what I see. With key in lock and drivers door shut, I push lock button down and then rotate key in door lock to the open position and the foot on the key lock rotates to move the fork on door lock to oepn and all works corrctly. Now, when I try to lock the door, the foot hardly moves so there is no door lock action. Question, will the door lock replacement (re-keyable) correct this deficiency?
With lock out I can move the key lock foot through 180 degrees of rotation (with my hand) I did not try this using key in lock so I guess it would be wise to pull the lock again, insert key and turn to both lock and unlock and see if the foot rotates with key. |

Central Locking
Well folks, a used Central Lock Control Module and used Door Lock Motor (BAVARIAN in CA) and she is almost totally fixed. I can nowm open the doors and lock the doors with the ky if used in passenger or trunk lock (drivers door still a no go). I am now in process of putting in re-keyed lock cylinder (drvers door ) and hope that will cure all of the problems. Thanks for all of the suggestions, I do appreciate your time.
