URGENT VANOS help needed please!

Hi guys,

I just took out my VANOS solenoid to test it since I'm getting some hesitation, and the solenoid did seem to be a little weak. Anyway, I went to put it back in and I noticed the "peg" that the solenoid pushes on (inside where the solenoid screws in) had come out some, probably because of the excess oil in there pushing on it. Anyway, I noticed that the "peg" has a hole going through the middle of it, and it looks like it might need to line up with something. Is this the case? Does the peg need to be aligned?
