manual transmission weight

can someone tell me the approximate weight of the manual transmission in my '86 325. I need to drop it and i got a lead on a transmission jack that will handle up to 450 lbs. i think i am safe but would appreciate some input from anyone that might know. thanks. john

I've heard of people bench-pressing it back into place, so I don't think your jack's capacity will be an issue.
