I just replaced the wiper transmission on my daughters 91 E30 318i, a midblowing experiance i might add. Anyway, after putting everything back together i not longer have a tach, water temp. or econ gauge signal, input or whatever. Everything else on the dash seems to be working except these three, and the car runs fine. I have looked for broken wires and haven't found anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems obvious, but have you checked your fuses? I occasionally have a few gauges stop working on me it's due to a blown fuse.
However, the cause of the blown fuse is a little weirder. IIRC (and I could be totally off on this) the backup lights and some of the gauges run off the same fuse. There is a tendancy for the wires coming off the backup switch on the transmission to work themselves loose and get a little chewed up under the car. They can rub against the chassis, creating a short circuit and a blown fuse. If you have the bentley (or the owner's manual, I suppose), study the fuse charts and take a look what else is on the same fuse as the gauges you mention. Start hunting down what else doesn't work from there and maybe you can find the problem.

I have checked all the fuses and they're all ok. I was going to check the temp and engine speed sensors with info from a mitchells manual but i can't seem to find what the parameter for the speed sensor is.
