E30 tranny help

i'm normally in the 911 tech forum but need some bmw help.

a good friend of mine just got back from iraq and dropped in a "used" european dog-leg, close ratio tranny.....unfortunately after he got back to georgia it's on it's last legs.
what we need is to know his options to have it rebuilt correctly somewhere in the southeastern US, the car gets used on the track occasionally but mainly street.
i told him to register and post, so he'll probably chime in.

thanks for any help, we need to help him enjoy his bmw now that he's out of the sandbox

i had been the name of a company that was referred to me by someone in the know regarding bmw. i may be in need of a clutch job. they are located just north of atlanta in roswell, ga. name is Buckhead Motor Works ph 404.255.1516. i was told to ask for 'Toney' . may be worth a check. again I haven't followed up with them yet and don't know their capabilities. good luck. john

The guys at Buckhead Motor Works are great. They have taken care of my family's cars for years and we have always been well taken care of.
