Fuel pump in dual pump 1987 car??

I have an ’87 is with the two fuel pump design. I am having some problems (loss of power, especially with low fuel levels) that are symptomatic of failing fuel pump/clogged filter etc. I just got a new (well almost new) in tank pump from a 1991 325i. I will be replacing the rear seat this weekend and was wondering is the in-tank pump in the 1991 (single pump car) the same as the in–tank pump in a dual pump car??

Also, where can I find the fuel filter on my car? (1987 325is)

Is it hard to replace the fuel lines? What size are they (I have heard 5mm / ¼”)? How much does a fuel filter cost, and do the Kragen ones work??

Any help would be greatly appreciated….

MMS,
The fuel filter should be located on the driver's side of the car, just in front of the rear tire. It is not very difficult to change - just a bit messy (with spilled gasoline).
