318is Engine mounts

I am having trouble with the engine mounts on my 1991 318is (E30 with M42).

Replacements are quite expensive and remain of the glorious fluid filled variety which I hate.

I have heard stories about the engine mount for an E28 with M30 bieng a perfect fit. These are also supposed to be a little stiffer given the heavier M30.

Can anyone shed any light on this ??

Better yet. Anyone done it and can provide part numbers ??

Someone has to have done this before !!

The car in question is a 1991 318is. E30 + M42.

Date of Birth: 1991/04/01
Place of Birth: Regensburg, Germany
Serial Number: WBAAF9300MEE74722
Date of first mission: 1991/06/21

The stock engine mount is: 11811137076 $137.27 Soft, Fluid Filled

Potetial replacement is: 11811132793 $39.06 Hard, Solid rubber

Does anyone know if the solid mount can be used in place of the softer mount ?

ETK says NO. This has never stopped anyone before ...
