Front Control arm brands
I just purchased a set of E30 front lower control arms from FCP Groton. The web site listed the parts as Lemforder. The parts arrived and there is no indication of the manufacturer on the parts or the packaging. FCP Groton was selling these for much less than Pelican or anyone else.
How do I know if these are in fact the Lemforder? Has anyone recently purchased actual Lemforder and been able to verify the brand by the packaging or the part? I should have just bought the Leforders from Pelican.

Mark,
You should have some kind of a brand labeled on both the packaging as well as the parts themselves. I had purchased individual ball-joints from Pelican back in the days they did not provide manufacturer's info and they turned out to be the Lemforders and they were labeled as such. The one control arm with ball-joints I got from BavAuto (did not have any brand info on-line, just the BMW part number) turned out to be made by "O-Cap", but I was in a bind and wound up using it anyway. |

I've had similar experiences as yurick when purchasing parts form known aftermarket suppliers. It seems to be a crapshoot. However, I did get VERY reasonable pricing on Lemforder CV-boot kits [front axle for my iX] years ago from another vendor [not PP] that was well below the going rate. The boots have held up well.
