Door Removal (Door Brake/Stop/Stay pin)

Hi,

I have removed all the screws and bolts that are needed except for one part. (1998 BMW E36 M3 4-door) The door stop is the only remaining piece connected between the door and the body. I see a pin that is protruding out of the end of the door stop that holds the door to the body. So is there a way to detach this doorstop? Or will I have to break that pin (or push it out some how)? Thanks, phil.

edit- the part looks like this
door stop pin

i want to push that thing out, any ideas?

It may sound crude but I just layed a flathead screwdriver across it and used a hammer to coax it out.

Thanks for replying liquid. I have tried that but it didn't work so I just used a vice grip and squeezed it out using part of the hinge and the bottom part of the pin. It got out quite easily too. And there was also a kind of lock on the pin that I had to squeeze down before I could take it out so knocked it back just a little. I installed the new door already and I still have to remember to knock the lock back in place so the pin doesn't fall.
