1988 e30 convertible top problem
The top fits fine on the car, the rear boot lifts properly, the top stands and folds as it should. Problem is that it wont fit in the boot area when folded inside. I think I am following the directions in the manual. Any thoughts?

Make sure that you are folding the top as well as the belts correctly.

More than likely you need to pull the "Roof Bow" to the correct position. This is the center rod that runs from one side of the roof to the other. #27 on the attached link.

Thanks guys, you were both spot on. The center rod needed to be pulled back into position as the roof was being folded, and the belts on either side of the roof needed to be correspondingly pushed back into the fold.
