Convertible headliner
My headliner is handing low in one weird spot on my 1995 e36 cabrio. This car is in immaculate condition, has only 49K on it -- the rest of the manual top seems perfect. My guess is the lack of use might have even contributed to this condition.
I have a couple photos. The main area of trouble is right near the rear window on the inside, on the passenger side. If you view the car from the outside and behind you can see the liner slightly lower on the inside. It seems a plastic piece has torn away from a screw and washer -- this was holding the liner to the metal frame. Now the top is going down kinda weird, not fitting well in the boot. Is there a kit I can buy for this? I saw that the 101 book might have some ideas. I guess my question is do I have to rig something up? Or is there a premade kit that will help me? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi there. Yes, my top had the same problem, and there is a kit for this. I don't have the part numbers handy (they are in the book), but here is a photo of what you need:
