E36 Owners - Check your trunk wiring!
About 50% of the cars I look at seem to have this trunk wiring harness problem, which can cause door lock problems, gauge cluster problems, and general electrical gremlins.
Pull back the plastic on the trunk harness (easy), and see if you see this:  -Wayne

 Simply pull back the insulation to check. Repair and seal the harness if you find this mess:  Solder the wires together under the tape and/or heat shrink tubing... -Wayne
